Determination of the desorbable P amount in soil using ion exchanger resins

László Tolner and György Füleky

The desorbable P amount of 6 Hungarian soils was determined by means of ion exchanger resin. The soil : solution : exchanger resin proportion was varied over a wide range. The soil with water and resin was shaken until a balance had been reached. This was followed by filtration and determination of the P amount extractable by the resin. The P amount adsorbed by the resin was found to depend very much on the three factors. Measuring values were used to construct a model allowing correct indication of the amount of P bound to the resin in the system soil — solution — exchanger resin.
