Our work contributes to the assessment of soil heterogeneity by remote sensing. With the launch of the Sentinel satellites, monitoring of the surface became possible with a fewdays revisit frequency. Physical properties of the soil influence the optical and radar signals recorded by satellites. One of the most important property is the moisture content of surface layer. The surface moisture data represent a proxy related to the soil heterogeneity.

Our analysis of soil moisture dynamics contributes to the understanding of soil heterogeneity at agricultural field level.
